MG 550 and 750 unveiled in South America
And competitive pricing's the name of the game

Chilean launch of the MG 550 in anticipation of a 15th October on-sale date.

THE MG marque has made a return to the South American market - and the models look uncannily familiar. If proof were needed that SAIC is embracing the Octagon, then take a look at the models it recently presented to enthusiasts and dealers at the Chilean launch ceremony.

For this market, the emphasis is clearly on rebranding SAIC products - hastily. Where the Roewe badge once resided, MG octagons have been installed - thanks to the efforts of the Chilean importers, Group SK Bergé. The range is due to go on sale there on the 15th October with the facelifted (but Nanjing-built) TF roadster following a month later.

Prices:
MG 550 1.8 Turbo: Four trim levels starting from 10,500,000 Chilean Pesos (US$ 18,400)
MG 750 2.5 V6: Starting from 16,990,000 Chilean Pesos (US$ 29,800)
MG TF: 1.8 price TBA.
